Regional Volunteer Coordinator (Volunteer)

The Volunteer Coordinator at the EFPRP Organization is a vital team member responsible for the overall management, growth, and success of the volunteer program. This position involves recruiting, onboarding, training, and retaining a diverse group of volunteers to support the organization’s mission and operations. 

The coordinator serves as the primary liaison between volunteers and the organization, ensuring that volunteers are effectively integrated into programs, events, and initiatives. This role requires creating a positive and inclusive volunteer experience by identifying meaningful opportunities that align with both the needs of the organization and the individual skills, availability, and goals of volunteers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to recruit volunteers through outreach, partnerships, and social media.
  • Conduct volunteer interviews, orientation sessions, and onboarding processes to ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities.
  • Create and manage volunteer schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for programs, events, and day-to-day tasks.
  • Develop and implement recognition programs, such as appreciation events, awards, and personalized acknowledgments.
  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer activity, including hours logged, assignments, and program impact.

Must Have

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage with diverse groups of volunteers.
  • Proficiency in using volunteer management software, databases, and tools for scheduling and reporting.
  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, social work, or a related field preferred.
  • Fluent in English (full professional or native proefficiency)

Nice to have

  • Prior experience leading large-scale volunteer programs, especially in community-focused nonprofits.
  • Certification in Volunteer Administration (CVA) or similar credential.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities to engage with diverse volunteer populations.
  • Experience developing volunteer training materials or implementing recognition programs.
