Social Media & Communications Director (Volunteer)

The Director of Communications & Social Media is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping and sharing the EFPRP's story across Europe. 

This position oversees all communication channels and content to raise public awareness, drive engagement, and build support for the organization's mission of wildfire prevention and rural preservation.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a comprehensive communications and social media strategy aligned with the EFPRP's goals
  • Ensure all public messaging is consistent and reflects the organization's core values.
  • Oversee the production of all digital and social content, from campaigns and press releases to educational materials.
  • Act as the primary media contact and build relationships with journalists and European-wide media outlets.
  • Lead and mentor a team of student volunteers and staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

Must Have

  • Proven experience in a communications or public relations role.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, analytics, and content management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
  • Passion for the EFPRP's mission and a desire to make a tangible impact.

Nice to have

  • Experience in a non-profit organization.
  • Familiarity with graphic design and video editing software.
  • Knowledge of wildfire prevention, ecology, or environmental preservation.
  • Ability to communicate in multiple European languages.
