We are seeking a visionary leader to define the editorial voice of the EFPRP. The Director of Journalism will oversee our investigative reporting on wildfire incidents and rural preservation efforts across Europe.
You will lead a team of reporters, ensuring that our publications maintain the highest standards of journalistic integrity while effectively communicating our mission to the public and policymakers.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the editorial strategy for the EFPRP’s news and publications.
- Oversee, assign, and edit the work of staff writers and field correspondents.
- Ensure all content is factually accurate, politically neutral, and aligned with our fire prevention mission.
- Coordinate with Strategic Research & Data Analysis Department (SRDAD) and Social Media & Digital Communications Department (SMDC) to turn complex data into compelling stories.
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or Political Science (or equivalent experience and/or certificate).
- Proven experience in an editorial or leadership role.
- Impeccable command of English (C1/C2 level); excellent editing skills.
- Strong organizational skills to manage deadlines across time zones.
Nice to have
- Experience in environmental or crisis reporting.
- Fluency in a second European language (French is a strong plus).
- Familiarity with Google Docs and Google Workspace.
