Trademark Policy

Introduction and Purpose

The European Fire Prevention & Rural Preservation Organization (EFPRP™) and its allied initiative, the European Alliance Network for Ecosystem & Nature Protection (EANENP™), are dedicated to the critical missions of fire prevention, civil safety, and the preservation of natural European environments.

Because our community, public safety partners, governmental agencies, and the general public rely heavily on our names and visual identities as authoritative symbols of trust, safety, and official guidance, it is our duty to protect our intellectual property from misuse, dilution, or fraudulent representation. In emergency preparedness and ecological preservation, clarity and authenticity can be a matter of public safety. If a third party inaccurately uses our branding, the public may be misled into following unsanctioned safety protocols or donating to fraudulent causes.

We have developed this comprehensive Trademark Policy to ensure that our brand assets remain undiluted, distinct, and are used safely, legally, and correctly at all times. This policy applies universally to all members, authorized partners, accredited training providers, vendors, media outlets, digital developers, and the general public.

General copyright notice

Protected Brand Assets

Our trademarks are the foundation of our identity. They represent the rigorous standards and values of our organization and are protected by national and international intellectual property laws (including but not limited to the INPI in France and EUIPO across the European Union). The following assets, whether registered or asserting common-law rights, are the exclusive intellectual property of our organization:

The EFPRP Brand Family

Proper Usage & Attribution

EFPRP™ and EANENP™ brands are essential to the trust placed in us by the public, our members, and our institutional partners. To ensure these identifiers remain reliable, all authorized parties must adhere to these usage requirements.

Trademark Usage

The ™ Symbol: The trademark symbol (™) must be used at the first and most prominent mention of "EFPRP" or "EANENP" in any document, press release, or digital communication.

No Genericization: Our acronyms and name must be used as proper adjectives to describe our services or organization, not as generic nouns or verbs (e.g., use "EFPRP™ educational resources" instead of "the efprp-ing of the project").

Visual Integrity: You must use our logos in their complete, unmodified state. You are strictly prohibited from stretching, distorting, cropping, or recoloring our logos. Any modification, including the addition of text or graphic overlays, is a violation of these guidelines.

Mandatory Attribution

When using our brand assets (logos, images, or specific proprietary terminology) in third-party materials, you must include the following attribution statement in a legible font size beneath the asset or at the bottom of the publication.

For EFPRP™ attribution

"The EFPRP™ logo and word mark are owned by the European Fire Prevention & Rural Preservation Organization. Used with permission via the Register Authorization Software (RAS) framework (YOUR_RAS_ID)"

For EANENP™ attribution

"The EANENP™ logo and word mark are owned by the European Fire Prevention & Rural Preservation Organization. Used with permission via the Register Authorization Software (RAS) framework (YOUR_RAS_ID)."

Holding an EANENP Network Partner ID does not grant automatic rights to use the EFPRP or EANENP logos. Separate authorization via the Register Authorization Software (RAS) is mandatory for any logo usage, generating a unique, sometimes long, verification code.

Prohibition on Unauthorized Affiliation

No party may use EFPRP or EANENP assets in a manner that suggests an official endorsement, sponsorship, or certification by our organization unless that relationship is explicitly documented and/or authorized through an active, valid RAS-issued license. Using our branding to promote or legitimize unauthorized products, services, or events is strictly prohibited and will be addressed by our legal department.

Responsibility for Compliance

If you are currently using any EFPRP or EANENP brand assets, you must discontinue its use immediately and remove all associated branding from your materials.

Permitted Descriptive Fair Use

While EFPRP™ and EANENP™ assets are strictly protected, we recognize that legitimate third parties, such as journalists, academic researchers, partner institutions, and the public, frequently need to reference our organization in text.

You do not require prior authorization or a RAS license to engage in Nominative Fair Use, provided your usage meets all of the following conditions:

  • Factual Text References Only: You may use the plain, unstyled text names ("European Fire Prevention & Rural Preservation Organization", "EFPRP", "European Alliance Network for Ecosystem & Nature Protection", or "EANENP") strictly for informational, educational, historical, or news-reporting purposes.

  • No Visual Assets Without Approval: Fair use applies exclusively to text mentions. It does not grant any right to display our logos, emblems, badges, or graphical assets without an active RAS-issued license.

  • No Prominence or Dominance: Our names or acronyms must not appear more prominently than surrounding text, nor should they be used as the primary title or heading of a commercial or independent publication, website, or social media page.

  • Accuracy and Truthfulness: Any reference must be accurate, truthful, and non-misleading. Your usage must never falsely imply an official partnership, endorsement, sponsorship, or certification by the EFPRP or EANENP.

We welcome coverage from journalists, news outlets, and media organizations. To support proper reporting while maintaining brand protection, we provide the following boilerplate text, high-resolution media asset guidelines, and authorized organizational translations.

For formal trademark licensing inquiries or brand authorization, please contact trademark@efprp.org. All media usage of our visual assets remains strictly subject to the attribution and visual integrity rules outlined in this policy.

Enforcement & Reporting Violations

The European Fire Prevention & Rural Preservation Organization (EFPRP™) actively monitors the unauthorized use of its names, acronyms, logos, and proprietary assets. Because our branding represents public safety, trust, and official ecological standards, we take intellectual property infractions seriously.

Monitoring and Legal Action

We reserve the right to take immediate legal action against any individual, organization, company, or digital platform that:

  • Impersonates EFPRP or EANENP, or falsely claims an official partnership or endorsement.

  • Uses our registered or common-law trademarks without an active, verified RAS-issued license.

  • Modifies, distorts, or misrepresents our visual brand assets in a way that dilutes our identity or misleads the public.

Reporting Unauthorized Use

If you discover any fraudulent activity, unauthorized logo usage, fake merchandise, or impersonation of EFPRP or EANENP, please report it immediately to our legal department.

  • Email: trademark@efprp.org

  • What to Include: Please provide the URL where the infraction occurs, screenshots if possible, a brief description of the potential misuse, and any relevant context.

All reports are reviewed promptly, and appropriate measures, ranging from formal cease-and-desist notices to legal prosecution, will be pursued to protect the integrity of our organization and the safety of the public we serve.
